Red Retro Wines, a specialist on-trade wine importer, is set to bring back ’70s favourite Bull’s Blood.

The Manchester-based company launched the medium-sweet Bulgarian wine just before Christmas when it helped treble overall sales in six weeks.

It is now hoping to capitalise on the boom with a push for a range it sources from the Black Sea Gold winery in Burgas, which has been producing the Bull’s Blood style of wine for more than half
a century.

“We still have to change negative views some people might have from the ’70s and ’80s when the market became saturated and the quality of the wine allowed to be compromised by some suppliers,” said account manager Linzi Turner.

“We believe that we can win over wavering doubters with the value and quality now on offer.”
