Thwaites Shire horses help relaunch refurbished pub
The famous Thwaites Shire horses turned up for the opening of the Royal Oak, Riley Green, which has undergone an extensive £110,000 refurbishment.

Award-winning owner Thwaites, jointly invested in the pub with tenants, Mike and Chris Rawlinson to re-launch the popular local as a drinking and food haven for customers.

Mike Rawlinson, who runs the pub with brother Chris, said: “Since taking over the Royal Oak we’ve worked closely with Thwaites to give the Royal Oak a new lease of life and since the re-opening, our customers have been nothing but complimentary.

“Maintaining the traditional look was important because that’s what our customers like about the pub, and now with a brand new kitchen and menu we’re able to offer our customers an improved dining experience.”

Andrew Buchannan, director of pub operations, said: “It’s great to see the joint effort that both Chris and Mike have put into the Royal Oak’s relaunch. They’ve dedicated time into ensuring the pub offers something for everyone from a delicious menu to a wide range of ales, wines and whiskeys.
