Soft drinks company Britvic is hoping to lure cider fans into choosing a non-alcoholic alternative with the latest limited edition flavour to join the J20 portfolio.

Pear Gold, a blend of pear and guava, has been created for those “with a more sophisticated pallet” and as an alternative to cider this summer.

“We’re extremely confident that J2O Pear Gold will bring in new consumers into the brand and provide them with a credible soft drink as an alternative to cider which is one of the summer’s most popular on-trend alcoholic drinks,” said marketing director, Jonathan Gatward.

At the same time the company has announced a five-month deal with Heart Radio to sponsor its weekend programs. As part of the deal J20 will also be the first partner of Heart TV.

Last week the company released its annual Soft Drinks Review, which showed the juice drink category up 10.5% in value to £234.6m and 4.2% in volume to 36.3 million litres.
