BT Sport named as sponsor of the Great British Pub Awards 2013
The agreement will see BT Sport, which is launching dedicated sports channels this summer, become title sponsor of the Publican’s Morning Advertiser’s GBPA for the next three years.

“The commitment by BT Sport to the awards will help us strengthen this vital programme for pubs, which helps lift the pub industry.”
This year’s awards ceremony takes place at the Hilton in Park Lane, central London, on 12 September.

Entries are now open for the 15 categories in the BT Sport Great British Pub Awards 2013, which recognise the achievements of single-site pub operators.
There are categories appropriate for every type of pub to enter, ranging from Best Spirits Pub, Best Cask Ale Pub, Best Smoking Area to Best Freehouse and Best Food Pub.
New categories for this year include Best Bar Team, which recognises bar teams that have helped to increase drinks sales at their site through a strong focus on great drinks service, strong product knowledge and excellent back-bar merchandising. Also new is Best Wine Pub, looking for pubs for whom wine is a significant contributor to their business success.
There is also a renamed category this year — Best Tenanted and Leased Pub is now Best Partnership Pub, which recognises licensees who have been the best exponent of the tenanted/leased/franchise model during the past 12 months.
The closing date for entries is 17 May 2013.
