The brewing and pub industry is set to feature in tonight’s BBC show The Apprentice.

The 16 candidates, which are already down to 15, after last nights launch show are fighting it out for a £250,000 investment  and the chance to go into a business partnership with Lord Sugar.

In the episode tonight the candidates face an early morning trip to the Dean Swift pub in London’s Butlers Wharf where they are given the task of coming up with a new flavoured beer.

Half the teams head off to a brewery to dream up their drinks, while the rest brainstorm brands for their beers. One team opts for a rhubarb beer which they formulate at Marston's Bank's Brewery.

Richard Westwood, brewing director said: "It is great that the BBC have put the spotlight on British brewing for tonight's programme and as the apprentices demonstrate - brewing is a complex process that takes years of perfection to produce our range of ales and its definitely not as easy as it looks!"
On completion of the task the group were then charged with selling their brew in Pitcher & Piano in Richmond.

The other team chose a chocolate and orange beer at another brewery.

The episode will feature on BBC 1 at 9pm tonight.

James Watt at Brewdog is to feature on the Your Fired! show afterwards.
