David Hancock, editor of the guide, said: "We have unearthed a new crop of pubs that are busy and bucking the trend as Britain’s pubs evolve and innovate in the face of an extremely tough recession.
"Pubs are reinventing themselves in order to survive these difficult times. Enterprising landlords who think creatively about how they can entice customers regularly into their pubs are the winners in this recession. Quality, consistency and authenticity are key and at the heart of a busy, thriving pub.
"Today’s more discerning (and cash-strapped) customers are demanding them - they now expect locally-sourced food on short daily menus, retro bar snacks, craft beers from small micro-breweries, artisan teas and coffee, home-from-home comforts in smart rooms, free wi-fi, and effortless service."
The company has launched a new website for pubs and app.
The 10th edition of the guide is on sale from 1 June and features over 950 pubs, including 101 new entries and 200 pubs with rooms.
