Spirit Pub Company apprenticeships set to pass 1,000 mark
The number of people who are on or have completed an apprenticeship programme with Spirit Pub Company is set to pass the 1,000 mark.

The apprenticeship programme, implemented by training company Charnwood, was created to offer an alternative to university and provide a clear career pathway for those working in hospitality, the pubco said.

Spirit plans to have an apprentice in every pub on one of the five available programmes it has across all brands.

Meanwhile, more than 100 Spirit apprentices were recognised for their success at a ceremony held at Alton Towers in Staffordshire earlier this month.

Spirit head of learning and development Mark Peters said it was an honour to meet some of the best and brightest apprentices and personally thank them for the hard work they have done.

He explained: “An apprenticeship is not something that can be taken on lightly and the commitment they have shown to earn their qualifications more than deserves some recognition.”

Spirit Pub Company owns and manages 791 pubs across the UK under brands such as Chef & Brewer, Fayre & Square, Flaming Grill, John Barras and Taylor Walker.
