A Shropshire pub is trialling a live carvery concept.

Nostalgia Inns pub Ye Olde Punchbowl in Bridgnorth has teamed up with Aga to replace the existing carvery with a large Aga range behind the carvery. The chefs will cook the carvery live in front of customers front-of-house.

"The concept is so unique that the Punchbowl will be the first ever venue to launch such a scheme," said proprietor Adam Giles. "It most certainly will benchmark our carvery and set a new era." The new set-up will launch on 31 October.

Giles also runs the Plough Inn near Bewdley in Worcestershire.

Nostalgia Inns pubs are traditional with open fires, rustic decor and serve home-cooked food prepared from local produce.

Ye Olde Punchbowl was a regional finalist in the Freehouse category at this year’s Great British Pub Awards, organised by the Publican’s Morning Advertiser.
