The Imperial in Chelsea, London reopens this month following a refurbishment under new owners.

Renamed from the Imperial Arms, the venue will reopen as a restaurant rather than a pub. owners Kate MacWhirter and Alan Turtill have spent around £180,000 on redeveloping the site, backed by a group of private investors.

The dining area will seat 50 covers with a menu of international dishes on offer. The restaurant will also have an emphasis on sustainability with all ingredients seasonally and responsibly sourced and food waste will be composted.

Head chef Tom Hope previously worked at the Old Mill in Berkhamstead, Hertfordshire and the Red Lion at Claverdon, Warwickshire. The kitchen is open plan with an informal bar area, a garden and seating outside on the King’s Road.
