Former pupils of Licensed Victuallers’ School in Slough, Berkshire have organised a school reunion to raise money for Breast Cancer Care.

The event, which will take place on Saturday 30 November at Riverside bar in Vauxhall, London, has been organised by Steve Pepper, who left the school in 1978, and a handful of his old school friends.

Four weeks after sending out invitations and publicising the event on Facebook, around 70 people have confirmed attendance.

Former pupil Judith Kelly, who works for the BBC, will be filming the event and selling DVDs afterwards, to raise money for charity. There will also be a raffle to win framed prints of Slough.

“We anticipated 30 people would come. Now we reckon there will be about 100,” Pepper told the Publican’s Morning Advertiser.

“People will be coming from all over the world – Canada, Dubai, South Africa. We’re all about 50 now, most of us are grandparents and we’ve realised we haven’t seen each other since we were 16. We want to snatch onto our old life!”

He added that the event will raise money for Breast Cancer Care to support one of his old classmates who is currently undergoing chemotherapy.

If you are a former pupil of the Licensed Victuallers’ School and wish to attend the reunion email Steve Pepper.
