Star Pubs & Bars celebrated its most successful licensees at a gala awards ceremony in Birmingham last night (14 November).

A host of new awards were also presented to recognise the company’s top operators.

New awards included: Best Bar Team, Green Pub, New to Food, Retail Innovation, Best Pub Transformation and Retailer of the Year which was awarded to the New Pub Company.

Winners were selected from its 1,300 strong estate after months of visits and reviews by Star Pubs & Bars, Heineken employees and representatives from sponsor companies.

“The award winners are testimony to the professionalism and dynamism of leased pub operators, a story which is sadly not often told in the wider media,” said Chris Jowsey, trading director Star Pubs & Bars.

“From raising thousands of pounds for good causes and lending a helping hand to those in need to providing a focal point for activities and injecting community spirit into neighbourhoods around the UK, pubs clearly still fulfill a very important role in our society.”
