PBR Leisure (PBRL), the bar and restaurant operator, has been placed into administration.

The company comprises seven pubs, restaurants and hotels spread across the North East and Belfast, including the Prohibition in Leeds, the Waterside Hotel in Quayside and the Bambu venue in Newcastle, that were formerly part of Ultimate Leisure.

Zolfo Cooper has been appointed as administrator to the company.

The full list of sites in the portfolio is the Boathouse in Durham; the Waterside Hotel, Quayside; The Lodge, Newcastle; Prohibition Leeds; the Riverside, Newcastle; Beach, Belfast; and Bambu, Newcastle.

Earlier this year the company placed 13 of its 17 Ultimate Leisure sites on the market with Gerald Eve.

The venues, located in north east England, were a mixture of freeholds and leaseholds and had guide prices ranging from £1.75m for the freehold or long leasehold of the Boathouse riverside bar in Durham to £375,000 for the freehold of Chase Bar in Sunderland.

David Myers is believed to have stepped down as chairman of the group earlier this year.
