Chinese beer Tsingtao has begun a stint of advertising in cinemas to help promote the brand and its Dragon Ping Pong events in the run-up to Oscar season.

The minute-long advert, which features British model and actress Amy Jackson and Jamie Cho competing in an underground table tennis tournament, will be shown in over 3,000 UK cinemas including Cineworld, Odeon and Vue from 24th January to 21st February.

“The campaign will help to drive consumers to the Dragon Ping Pong website, which provides further information on the events, venues and Tsingtao’s robotic ping pong star, the Dragon Master,” said Tsingtao’s international sales and marketing controller James Wright.

“Customers will then be able to ‘Challenge the Dragon’ at their nearest Dragon Ping Pong event, with prizes on offer for successful players. The advert will also align the brand with an upmarket and younger audience during Oscar season, and convey the excitement of the upcoming Dragon Ping Pong events taking place across the UK,” added Wright.

Tsingtao is distributed in the UK by Halewood International.
