Bull, Highgate: getting a sister pub
Dan Fox, ex-general manager of Mitchells & Butler’s (M&B) famous White Horse pub in Parsons Green, west London has taken on his second pub.

He is leasing the Bohemia in North Finchley, north London from M&B and will open it in five to six weeks following a major refurbishment part-funded by the company. He also runs the Bull in Highgate, north London, which has a small microbrewery on site and is themed around American craft beers.

The Bohemia will also have a microbrewery more than twice the size of the Bull's at six-barrel capacity. The larger site will be used to brew the group’s core range of five ales while the smaller brewery will be used for developing new products and limited editions.

"The new pub is going to be similar to how we run the Bull," said manager Mark Packer. "We will be doing quality food and brewing up to twice a day on-site. There will be more emphasis on sharing platters and pizzas as it is a big drinks-led site."

After the kitchen closes pizza will be served late into the evening for drinkers. The downstairs bar will host music, comedy and open mic nights with regular quiz nights.
