CAMRA members choose their Branch Pubs of the Year

The Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) has announced its 210 Branch Pubs of the Year as part of its Community Pubs month.

The pubs are chosen by thousands of CAMRA members at branches across the country and judged on decor, value for money, customer services and the quality of their ales. The local branch winners then go into regional heats for National Pub of the Year, the winner of which will be announced in early 2015.

Colin Valentine, CAMRA chairman said: “I would like to thank all of the volunteers that have judged pubs up and down the country. This can take a lot of dedication to find the best real ale pubs in the area. We like to announce the winners in Community Pubs Month to highlight the best pubs Britain has to offer to help raise the profile of pub-going."

The list has been released as part of Community Pubs Month, which seeks to raise the profile of pubs and offer advice on how they can drive more trade.

Valentine added: “There are literally thousands of wonderful pubs that need our support at this moment in time and I would urge everyone to visit their local pub in April and discuss with the licensee ways he or she could encourage you to visit more regularly.”
