Punch Taverns is working with seven new brewers in its Finest Cask scheme this spring.

The Spring Rotation features 16 beers by brewers including Island Brewery and Conwy Brewery.

The current scheme runs until 25 April, when an international theme will take its place in the run-up to the World Cup.

Peerless Brewing Co is one of the brewers in the current scheme with its golden ale, Peerless Pale.

Head brewer Steve Briscoe said: “We brew eight beers and this is the first time we have worked in conjunction with the Punch Finest Cask scheme. We believe it is an excellent initiative as it gives customers the chance to try something different from smaller brewers and it allows brewers to operate on a larger scale and gain national exposure with a good steading in the ale market. “

John Healy, commercial director for Punch, said: “Cask Ale is one of the unique selling points for British pubs and we feel that it is one of the most significant business drivers for our pubs.

“We try to work with new brewers on every rotation and are always looking for new brewers to work in partnership with. Whilst the big brewers can support our partners with point of sale kits, smaller brewers can give our pubs the opportunity to offer regional variety.”
