The refurbishments include The Baker Arms in Bayford, which was formerly a row of farm workers’ cottages, undergoing a £60,000 renovation; The Victoria in Ware having £40,000 invested in enlarging the pub area and refreshing the guest rooms; The Almond Tree in Stevenage has had £35,000 spent on a makeover to its two bar areas; The Sibthorpe Arms in Welham received a £40,000 investment to upgrade its dining areas; and The Sebright Arms in Barnet, has received £65,000 investment in its food offerings, as well as decoration inside and out.

“We’re in the middle of an extensive investment programme to ensure our tenants have a McMullen pub that is comfortable and attractive to customers, and is also competitive in its retailing appearance and facilities,” said Fergus McMullen, production and sales director of McMullen.

“We’re always keen to work with entrepreneurial landlords who have a firm vision of how they want their pub to be, and will provide the support necessary to make their site a success. We are thrilled with the results so far.”
