Nightclub operator Luminar handed out awards to staff members at its annual conference.

The company, which operates 53 nightclubs across the UK, held the ceremony at Whittlebury Hall in Northamptonshire, to celebrate the achievements of its staff.

The conference included a review of company performance and presentations by industry voices including Association of Licensed Multiple Retailer chief executive David McHattie and the Street Pastors.

In total, 13 members of the team were recognised, with key awards including Regional Director of the Year for Martin Winter from the East and Scotland; General Manager of the Year for Russell Quelch from Oceana Southampton; and Deputy Manager of the Year, which went to Simon Wilson from Club Batchwood.

Nick Jackson, General Manager at Evoke, Chelmsford was presented with the Graham Peel Award which is given in memory of the former employee to an individual who displays outstanding energy, enthusiasm and entrepreneurial flair. 

Head of Club Development, Eric May walked also away with the Special Contribution Award for project managing 16 club refurbishments in the past year.

Luminar chief executive Peter Marks said: “It has been an incredible 12 months for The Luminar Group which has continued to go from strength to strength in terms of financial performance, investment and innovation.  This has culminated in us being recognised as Nightclub Operator of the Year, so our awards present a great opportunity to thank our employees and recognise the calibre and strength of our management team and emerging star performers.”
