Week left to enter Seafish’s 2015 National Fish and Chip Awards
The awards celebrate the British tradition of fish and chips and recognise the efforts of restaurants and takeaways across the country.
Categories include: Best Independent Fish and Chip Restaurant of the Year; Best Independent Takeaway Fish and Chip Shop of the Year; Best Newcomer Award and the Good Catch – Sustainable Seafood Award.
Seafish claims previous winners have seen turnover increase by up to 50%. The Bay Fish & Chips in Stonehaven, Aberdeenshire reported a 100% increase in sales after winning the Independent Takeaway Award in 2013.
Last year's winner of Best Independent Takeaway, Stuart Fusco, owner of Quayside Fish and Chips, Whitby, North Yorkshire, said: “achieving the award was a real milestone for our business”.
