Country Choice launch hot dog concept

The Hudson’s Gourmet Hot Dogs and Burgers package provides customers with cooking equipment, packaging, display items and cooking ingredients.

The ‘Hudson’s concept is styled on US street food, which has seen a recent rise in popularity in the UK.

Ingredients will include 85% meat pork dogs; Cumberland sausages; pre-sliced thaw and serve hot dog buns and sesame seed buns; and UK and Ireland sourced beef. A range of extras such as pre-fried onions and sliced jalapenos will also be included.

The concept also includes menus with RRP’s per item ranging from £2.95 to £3.95.

Dishes on the pre-designed menu include ‘The Butch’ – a smoked sausage topped with chilli, fried sliced onions, mustard and ketchup – and ‘the Skyscraper’ – a flame-grilled burger with tomato, lettuce, chilli, cheese and sauce.

Manufacturers claim that profit margins should range between 45% and 50%.
