Leisure group Whitbread has launched a new pub brand called Whitbread Inns.

The concept, which has been introduced at five sites across the country so far, is focused on seasonal cask ales and food that’s billed as good quality and good value, reports Marketing Week.

It represents an expansion of Whitbread’s local format, launched earlier this year.

According to the magazine, the brand was formed from among its Beefeater Grills and Brewers Fayre pubs, and if further openings happen then Whitbread Inns would operate alongside the group’s Table Table pub restaurants.

A spokeswoman for Whitbread said: “Whitbread Inns are aiming to bring the classic pub and restaurant feel back to the local community. With five sites across the country, the new Whitbread Inns give locals the chance to experience fantastic great value food and drink full of seasonal flavour and a friendly atmosphere.”

The five Whitbread Inns sites that currently operate are: the Bridgewater Arms in Shrewsbury, the George & Dragon in Marlow, the Hobbs Boat in Lympsham, the Roundstone in Littlehampton and the Globe in Christchurch.

A new website has been created for the division.
