Eight pubs have been announced as participants in Sky's new quiz show
A new series about the Great British pub quiz will be filmed at venues across the UK.

Sky 1 show, Quiz Nights, will follow four teams , each in a different pub, as they battle it out to be crowned quiz champions.

Participating pubs include The Queens Arms, Birmingham; The Old Nuns Head, London; Peter Kavanagh's, Liverpool; The Rose and Crown, Chelmsford; Kelly's Dispensary, Liverpool; Stanley Working Men's Club, Blackpool; The Royal Blenheim, Oxford and The Lyceum Tavern, Newport.

Sky has promised that as the series progresses new pubs and teams will be introduced.

Alison Dolan, deputy managing director of Sky Business, said: “I’m delighted to share that Sky 1 HD will be taking its next show to the great British pub, demonstrating our ongoing commitment to the licensed trade. We all know that live sport is ideally suited to the environment within pubs and clubs, but events and quizzes are another great way to bring the atmosphere and camaraderie of the pub to life - this is what Quiz Nights is all about.”

Sky Commissioning Editor Entertainment, Chris Brogden adds: “Whether just for fun or for the highly competitive, Quiz Nights will be a true celebration of one of Britain’s great institutions.”
