Available in 10g and 20g sizes, the meatballs are described by the butcher and wholesaler as being a delicious base for a number of international meatball dishes, or as an ideal festive canapé with seasonal dips.
The company said its gourmet meatballs are made from top quality meat, which is carefully seasoned and formed to create meatballs that cook evenly and are perfectly juicy.
Andrew Brook, managing director at Hensons, said: “We have built a strong reputation in the premium casual dining market for understanding what chefs need and working with them to develop the perfect product – that’s why Hensons Gourmet Burgers are so successful.”
Bunnychow
The meatballs have been chosen as a ingredient in the signature dish of new South African-concept restaurant Bunnychow, which has just opened in Soho, London.
Bunnychow is a South African street food that’s new to the UK and involves a variety of ‘chow’ fillings served inside a hollowed out ‘bunny’ loaf.
The meatballs feature in its Monkey Gland Bunny, which is made of meatballs, peppers and the South African Monkey Gland sauce – a BBQ sauce that has nothing at all to do with monkeys.
Atholl Milton, chief executive of Bunnychow, said: “Hensons has been supplying us with top quality meats from day one, when we started out as a food truck, and as we've grown, it’s grown with us.”
Beef and lamb
Hensons recently expanded its range to include Aberdeen Angus beef from and Gourmet Lamb Kofta Burgers.
Its burgers come in all sizes, from cocktail right up to 280g, and are also available in square and artisan shapes.
