Budweiser Budvar Top 50 Gastropub Awards: Final call for entries
The awards, which are organised by the Publican’s Morning Advertiser (PMA), recognise the achievements of the UK’s dining pubs.
The main top 50 list of gastropubs is voted for through a prestigious industry poll of top chefs, food writers, pubco bosses and gastropub operators themselves.
The three awards that licensees can enter themselves are: Newcomer of the Year – for gastropubs that have been open for 18 months or less; Front of House Manager of the Year, which recognises managers who play a vital part in the success of the gastropub they work in; and Business Innovation of the Year, which recognises a specific business innovation that has helped drive the success of the dining pub in the past year.
Business boost

The winners will be announced at an awards lunch presented by chef Tom Kerridge, whose pub the Hand & Flowers in Marlow, has taken top spot in the Budweiser Budvar Top 50 Gastropub Awards for the past three years. He has now been retired to the Top 50 Gastropub Awards’ Hall of Fame.
In second place in the 2014 list was Steve Harris’s Shepherd Neame tenancy the Sportsman in Seasalter, Kent and in third place was Josh and Holly Eggleton’s Pony & Trap in Chew Magna, Somerset. Both pubs hold one Michelin star.
Hermitage Rd
The awards ceremony will take place at Anglian Country Inns’ site Hermitage Rd in Hitchin, Hertfordshire. The site has a Michelin Bib Gourmand.
Awards will also be presented at the event for Gastropub Chef of the Year and Wine List of the Year, both selected from pubs in the 2015 Top 50 gastropub list by a panel of industry experts. Gongs will also be given for the Highest New Entrant in the list and the Highest Climber.
