The UK’s top multi-site chefs are being encouraged to enter the second annual Farm Frites Development Chef Awards.

Run by Restaurant magazine – sister title to the Publican’s Morning Advertiser – the Development Chef Awards celebrate those chefs at the top of their game in the multi-site pub and restaurant sectors.

Multi-site pub chefs are eligible to enter five of the eight award categories, three of which are specific to pubs.

The award winners will be announced at the Farm Frites Development Chef Summit, which takes place in London next March.

The eight categories are:

  • Best Pub Menu (3-20 sites)
  • Best Pub Menu (21+ sites)
  • Best New Dish
  • Menu Innovation of the Year
  • Group Chef of the Year – Pubs
  • Group Chef of the Year – Restaurants
  • Best Restaurant Menu (3-20 sites)
  • Best Restaurant Menu (21+ sites)

Last year, Lancashire-based Seafood Pub Company won Best Pub Menu (3-20 sites), while Peach Pub Company picked up Best New Dish for its maple cured gammon and poached free-range egg creation.

Anglian Country Inns director of food Harry Kodagoda was crowned Best Group Chef in the pubs category.

Year end

Restaurant editor Stefan Chomka said: “As 2014 draws to a close and restaurants and pubs fill up with Christmas revellers, many multi-site chefs will be looking forward to a bit of time off and the opportunity to start planning for the year ahead.

“During this period of respite make sure you turn your attention to our Development Chef Awards 2015, which are now open for entries.”
