Albion Ventures, the investment vehicle, is reviewing its options with regards to Bravo Inns, the Cheshire-based pub company led by Ken Buckley.

The Bravo Inns business was originally formed in 2007 with the support of venture capital firm Albion and currently manages c30 community pubs in North Cheshire, Greater Manchester, Lancashire and Cumbria.

Christie + Co is aiding Albion, which has invested c£10m in the group since 2007, in reviewing its options for the business.

Bravo has focused on a buy-and-build strategy of acquiring ailing pubs, and reopening them (after extensive refurbishment) to play a central role in the community.

Options

An Albion spokesperson said: “Albion Ventures LLP regularly reviews its range of ongoing investments. Since 2007 Albion has continued to support Bravo Inns Limited and alongside long term advisors, Christie + Co, will continue to consider its long term strategic options.”

It thought that a sale could be one option reviewed by Albion, with Hawthorne Leisure thought to be a possible suitor.

Albion has previously backed Geronimo Inns and the 30-strong Bold Pub Company.
