Pesto manufacturer Sacla’ has announced the launch of its new foodservice business, Sacla’ Professionale.

The new foodservice business launched its professional range of Sacla’ Italian-made products to UK hospitality outlets on Monday 16 January, including pesto, organic tomato passata, capers, black eyed peas, artichoke quarters and pepper strips.

Clare Blampied, managing director of Sacla’ UK, said: “The launch of Sacla’ Professionale responds to Britain’s ongoing love affair with Italian food and builds upon our longstanding reputation for excellence and quality in the grocery channel.

Sacla’ Professionale will also be responsible for supplying the company’s range of Galvanina soft drinks to the on-trade.

Blampied added: “We believe that now is the time to launch a carefully selected range of these unique products to the UK market, catering for consumer demand for quality, provenance and value for money – our ambition is to become a go-to supplier of quality authentic Italian food and drink.”

Out-of-home growth

A study commissioned by Sacla’ and conducted by OnePoll reported that 49% of respondents said they had eaten Italian food out-of-home in the last month and with the eating-out sector expected to further grow in 2015. Blampied said Italian food has a significant role to play in the market.

She said: “We are proud to have 75 years of experience creating Italian food with care, flair and love and we are well established in Italy where many thriving hotels and restaurants use our trusted products.”
