Alf Turner & Sons has announced the expansion of its brand in to the snacks category with the launch of Dragon's Fury Chilli Pork Crackling.

The product utilises double-cooked pork crackling with Dragon’s Blood chilli to give the snack its spicy flavour.

Paul Turner, joint owner of Alf Turner & Sons with Peter Jones of BBC Dragon’s Den fame, said: “We are thrilled to bring this new innovation of pork crackling to the market and hope that we can soon become the staple choice for the discerning pork crackling connoisseur.

“I very much feel that, with the growing trend for real heat products, we are right on the money with our great blend of traditional pork crackling and then the after hit of true chilli.”

The Alf Turner brand received backing from Peter Jones in 2012, who invested £80,000 for a third share in the business when Turner appeared on the programme.

Dragon’s Fury pork crackling will be available in £1.00/50g bags, with 2p from every sale donated to charity Help for Heroes.

FEM

Foodservice Equipment Marketing (FEM) has introduced a range of colour-coded kitchen utensils to aid caterers in preventing allergen contamination during food preparation.

The new San Jamar Allergen range of kitchen tools includes a chopping board, a 25cm chef’s knife, tongs, a turner and a digital thermometer, all of which have purple handles designed to stand out and distinguish the range from other utensils.

All items in the range are supplied with a full one-year warranty.
