Sky is beefing up the support it provides to its pub customers with the aim of helping licensees make the most of live sport in their venue.

New customers will be enrolled into Sky’s ‘Kick-off’ programme, which includes a welcome pack with PoS so they can start promoting Sky Sports in their venue straight away. The frequency of branded fixtures posters has been increased from monthly to weekly, and a weekly email including top tips on how to promote sport will be sent out.

Sky’s existing customer website PreviewLive will be rebranded to My Sky Sports from 1 May and act as a hub for pubs that show sport.

Through the website, licensees can create and download fixture posters to promote specific matches, as well as access online training, and customise and add photos to their listing on Sky Sports Pub Finder, which receives more than 6m hits a year from sports fans.

The company is also looking at allowing pubs to use Sky Sports-branded images and video clips for use on their social media channels such as Facebook and Twitter. A new product designed to increase dwell time and customer spend will be launched next month.

Support

Alison Dolan, deputy managing director at Sky Business, said: “From the day a licensee joins Sky, and right the way through their subscription, we work with them to make sure they have all the support and advice they need to make the most of sport in their venue.

“For licensees, it’s about helping them make the most of sport and, ultimately, getting more money in the till. We provide pubs with all the support, products and services they need to create a great customer experience.”
