Haywood Products has improved its on-trade distribution network after agreeing to purchase snacks supplier Cosgrove’s Foods.

A ‘van sales’ division has been launched, and a new range of bar snacks will be created to complement Cosgrove’s existing snacks offer, the company said.

The new division will be overseen by Kevin Cosgrove, the former managing director and owner of Cosgrove’s.

Fraser Henderson, managing director of Haywood, said: “We had been seeking a further distribution method to get us closer to our clients and to enable us to have that personal service with regular clientele – so the opportunity with Cosgrove’s was seen as a natural fit.”

Henderson added: “Kevin joined forces with us because he felt our extensive range of snack and drink products would enable him to rapidly grow the direct-to-bar van sales business. We are delighted with the acquisition.”

Snack range

In addition to the current Cosgrove van sales snack range – which comprises the likes of Walkers, Seabrook, Real Crisps and Scampi Fries – new products include a full range of Kilner jar nuts, cocktail lemon slices, Brown Bag Crisps, Sun Valley Bar Pots and Riccos Nachos (served warm).

Haywood’s current drinks offer includes Eliot’s mulled wine, Eliot’s Mysthic spirit range, and cocktail brand Shatler’s.

Snyders pretzels, Posh Pig crackling, Ten Acre popcorn and Eliot’s Meaty Bites are featured among its snacks offer.

A range of pub trade cleaning products will be available shortly.
