Midlands-based nightclub operator Disco Bars Group has acquired two new sites and plans to add another two this year.

Managing director Pete Terry told M&C Report that the latest acquisitions will take the company to six sites and that he plans to grow by three to five sites a year moving forward.

The company has taken on the currently vacant Buzz Bar/Chameleon site in Long Eaton, Derbyshire, which will be converted to its new upscale late-night bar brand, Society.

In Newcastle-under-Lyme the company has acquired the previously closed Ikon bar and intends to create a boothed outside area alongside a bar and food offer. This deal was done with Star Pubs & Bars and opening is intended in mid May 2015.

Total investment is over £200k across the two sites.

The company currently operates two sites under its Manhattan’s brand — in Long Easton and Ashby in Leicestershire, as well as KIKI in Manchester and Gossip in Stoke-on-Trent.

Terry said: “We will look to open at least another two sites this year. Then three to five sites a year moving forward. We do not look to open a target number, but we have to find the correct town.”
