Spitfire, the Kent ale from Shepherd Neame, is offering trade customers the chance to win a once-in-a-lifetime experience to fly a Spitfire aeroplane.

The exclusive prize is up for grabs in this year’s Operation Landlord, an annual promotion organised by the brewery, to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Britain.

The winning licensee or manager will join a pilot for a tandem flight in the iconic British fighter aircraft, with an opportunity to take the controls. They will also get the chance to fly two other historic Second World War planes – a Tiger Moth and Harvard.

Spitfire Ale brand manager William Upfield said: “This year’s prize for Operation Landlord is the best yet. It is an experience that money can’t buy, and we are delighted to be able to offer it to our customers. We would like to wish the best of luck to everyone who enters!”

Licensees have to order a cask of Spitfire Ale, and text the unique code provided, along with the pub’s postcode and name, to be entered into the prize draw. Entries must be submitted by 30 June, and a winner will then be randomly selected.

Spitfire was originally brewed in 1990 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Battle of Britain.
