Butchers Arms serves up victory in LTC golf heat
The Butchers Arms from King’s Sutton in Banbury were the latest winners of the latest round of the Licensed Trade Charity 2015 Golf Tournament.
The Oxfordshire heat, held on 8July, was sponsored by local brewery Hook Norton and the Butchers Arms is a Hooky pub.
It also provided a real show of teamwork from within the pub as landlord Eric Branton and landlady Samantha Branton teamed up with customers Eddie Gladden and John Cousins to earn themselves a place in the Sky-sponsored Grand Final at Archerfield Links Golf Club in North Berwick in October.
Captain John Cousins said: “We just came for a social day out with other pubs and breweries. We never thought we would win, and now we are representing Oxfordshire in the national final!”
