Yummy Pub Co has secured its sixth site and its fourth with Charles Wells for its first high street pub, which will offer 100 types of loose-leaf tea.

The company has taken on the lease for the Daniel Defoe pub in Stoke Newington, which will be rebranded at the Stoke Newington Tea House.

Food wise, the pub will be offering its British main and Tapas menu with a twist and will specialise in loose leaf tea alongside a tea cocktail menu.

Richard Bishop, head of retail development at Charles Wells said: “We’ve developed a fantastic working relationship with Tim, Anthony, Jason and whole Yummy team and we’re all excited to be working on what looks set to be another completely unique city pub. There are some phenomenal ideas in the mix for The Stoke Newington Tea House and by working together openly, sharing ideas and bringing in learnings from our previous developments we’re looking forward to supporting the team in giving the pub a new lease of life and developing another thriving business together.”

Anthony Pender, managing director of Yummy Pub Co. said of the partnership: “We're really excited to be adding a high street site to the Yummy line-up and we'll be transforming The Stoke Newington Tea House by drawing inspiration from what has worked well at our other sites as well as bringing some totally new, original and unusual ideas to the table.

"We're delighted to be working with Charles Wells once again for our latest project, the team are always flexible and supportive in helping bring our vision to life at our partnership pubs.”
