Lincoln late-night venue wins back 4am licence
Lincoln-based bar Status has won a battle to serve alcohol to 4am after police previously cut its hours to 3am earlier this year.

Operator Innovation Pub Management won a hearing after appealing to magistrates. Lincolnshire police objected to the bar staying open until 4am because the premises is located in the middle of the city’s Cumulative Impact Zone.

These zones create a 'rebuttable presumption' of refusal to applications for new licenses.

After a full day of hearings, Status was granted the licence on the condition of a last entry time of 3am.

Michael Kheng of Kurnia Lincensing, who represented Status, said: “I am disappointed that Lincolnshire Police stopped discussing the application. We started negotiations regarding the application and things were looking good and then the police turned and dug their heels in about the door supervisor clause and trading beyond 3am.”

Director of Innovation Pub Management, Paul Weeks, added: “I am pleased with the result and just wanted to continue trading as usual and build the business at Status. We always have an open door and always want partnership with all agencies, wherever our companies premises are located.”
