Hobgoblin invites you to the feast

Wychwood Brewery is inviting entries to its Hobgoblin Bring Taste to the Nation campaign by joining them at the Hobgoblin “Legendary Feast”.

There are 10 pairs of tickets to giveaway for the feast which will take place at a secret location on Friday 11th September. Each ticket includes one nights accommodation at a hotel close to the venue, transport to and from the venue, a feast fit for a king, entertainment and beer. Winners will need to make their own way to and from the hotel.

AB InBev has partnered with light artist Michael Bosanko and Time Out to launch its #CaptureTheNight campaign to promote Beck’s Vier and celebrate the start of the 24hr tube in September.

The Beck’s Vier #CaptureTheNight campaign will call on Londoners to capture photographs that celebrate the city after dark and be in with a chance of seeing their creation appear on a travel card wallet.

The wallet will be distributed via tube stations across the capital alongside four additional wallets, which will be created for the project by Michael Bosanko - each image used will represent a different region of London; North, South, East, West and Central.

The winning #CaptureTheNight entry, which will represent one of these five regions, will be selected by Beck’s and Bosanko.

St Austell Brewery has launched a limited edition beer for the National Trust’s Coastline campaign.

To commemorate the 50th​ anniversary of when the brewery gifted a headland called “The Gribbin” to the National Trust, and as part of the Trust’s 2015 Coastal Festival, St Austell Brewery has created a limited edition 4.3% ABV English pale ale named after the headland.

The beer will be on sale at over 200 National Trust outlets in the South West, St Austell Brewery pubs and also available from the brewery’s website. Every pint or bottle sold will see 20p donated to the National Trust’s Neptune Coastline Campaign.

Shepherd Neame has added a new brew to its Spitfire Premium Kentish Ale range, called Spitfire Gold.

The 4.1% light golden ale has been brewed to commemorate the 75th​ anniversary of the Battle of Britain, and will be a permanent part of the Shepherd Neame range.

Using Centennial and Saaz hops and a sweet malt base, Spitfire Gold has “delicate and floral aromas.”

Caledonian Drop Kick

Caledonian Brewery has released a new guest beer, Drop Kick World Pale Ale, to celebrate the Rugby World Cup 2015.

The 4% ABV pale ale is brewed with hops from the tournament favourites England, Australia, France, New Zealand and South Africa, and malt from Scotland.

Golden in colour and with a zesty aroma and a hoppy kick, Drop kick will be available to order August 27 through September from Caledonian at www.caledonianbeer.com

Bavaria relaunched in the UK

Bavaria UK Limited is relaunching the Bavaria Beer brand in the UK.

Both the Bavaria Premium 5% and the alcohol free 0.0% version will be relaunched under the theme of authenticity, with Bavaria being brewed in Lieshout, Holland, by the Swinkels family who have owned the Bavaria brewery since 1719.

Corona Sunsets

AB InBev’s Mexican beer brand Corona will be running an outdoor campaign showcasing the brand at sunset.

The large format digital displays will be situated at east-facing locations across London and Manchester - The Torch, Piccadilly One, Digital Gateway 1000 and Trafford Arch. As the final hour of daylight arrives in each location, a live countdown will begin with the sun slowly setting on the billboard, while it is simultaneously occurring in the sky behind it. 

Weather conditions will be assessed and the displays will react to key triggers such as cloud cover, weather and temperature to ensure that the advertisements are activated when sunsets are at their best. The campaign will run mid-August through to early September.

Tyne Bank Brewery’s Monument Best Bitter was awarded three stars and was selected as one of the Top Foods of 2015 at the Great Taste awards.

Monument is a 4.1% copper coloured bitter, with “hints of caramel”, and a selection of English hops.

The beer was described by the Great Taste judges as: “Bang on. A perfect example of a classic British bitter. Glorious amber colour. Balanced, with just the right bite to it, and plenty of life. Wonderful.”

Titanic goes down a storm at Parliament

Titanic Brewery has brewed a special beer at the request of the Serjeant at Arms of the Houses of Parliament.

Olde Maudit, named after Nicholas Maudit, the first Serjeant at Arms, will go on sale on a regular basis in Parliament’s famous Strangers’ Bar.

The regular order follows a request to Titanic Brewery to provide an ale for a Houses of Parliament barbecue for Serjeants of Arms from around the world, hosted by the current Houses of Parliament Serjeant, Lawrence Ward.

Tiny Rebel Cwtch

The Champion Beer of Britain was announced as Tiny Rebel’s Cwtch at the Great British Beer Festival (GBBF).

The 4.6% ABV Welsh Red Ale uses American hops to produce citrusy and tropical favours and a caramel malt to balance moderate bitterness.
