Punch Taverns has further tweaked its management team, as it gears up to unveil its future strategy in November.

The PMA's sister title M&C Allegra understands that Neil Griffiths, who has been chief operating officer since February 2013, becomes chief strategy director, whilst Steve Dando moves from finance director to chief financial officer.

At the same time, Andy Crump, formerly of McDonald’s, who has headed up the group’s core business in the north west since 2012 becomes operations director for new division Falcon.

A Punch spokesperson told M&C: “Falcon is one of a number of actions we have begun to take exploring new operating formats, details of which will be given in our market update in November.”

Paul Pavli, who has been operations director overseeing the group’s new business division, is appointed to the role of operations director (South), whilst Giles Kendall becomes operations director (North).

It is thought that Pavli will veer more toward overseeing the core estate and Kendall the non-core one.

Jackie Burn, who has been with the company since 2005, sees her role fleshed out, moving from HR director to HR and services director.

Last month, the company appointed David Wigham as development director after six years as operations director. Wigham will take charge of the company’s fledgling concepts, such as the wet-led community pub model Mighty Local and sports bar Champs.

The group’s recently appointed chief executive Duncan Garrood said the re-structure was aimed at driving future plans and maximising potential across the pubco’s estate.

Garrood said: “As we plan ahead for our future in an ever-changing environment, we have re-focused our organisational structure with the emphasis on delivering results through a high quality pub estate, providing support so that we are delivering the best experiences for our pub customers and developing and driving our future plans. As a result, some new roles have been created.

“Further clarity on the organisation and our way forward will be shared at our results presentation in November.”
