Greene King has launched a pie festival at over 130 pubs across its UK estate, with one pie created by Tom Kerridge’s team at the Hand & Flowers available at selected sites.

Throughout November Greene King pubs will offer customers a range of specially created pie including Kerridge’s pie, which features caramelised British beef shin cooked in IPA gravy with polenta and hot water pastry crust.

Greene King local pubs division managing director Anthony Hemmerdinger said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for some wonderful pies to take centre stage at our pubs in November.

“We are excited about all the pies we have on offer through the festival, but anticipate particular interest in our new British beef and ale pie which definitely has that Tom Kerridge magic.”

Other pies on offer include a Norfolk black chicken and woodland mushroom pie, pulled lamb shank shepherd’s pie and a smoked haddock pie.

The event will be promoted on social media with the hashtag #ispypie and customers are encourage to get online and share their opinions of the different pies.
