MA300 national living wage debate Nottingham event

The new national living wage is set to have a big impact on the trade in 2016, and the next MA300 business club will host a debate on the topic.

Members of the free-to-attend club — the country’s leading multi-site pub retailers — will have the opportunity to discuss how they plan to mitigate the effects of higher labour costs in their businesses, as well as hear from operators that already pay staff higher wages.

The new rate of £7.20 per hour for workers aged 25 or over will be introduced in April and many operators have warned that the extra staffing costs will reduce their ability to invest and create jobs.

The debate is just one of the highlights of a day that will feature presentations from experts in finance, licensing, brewing and property, along with a number of top operators.

The event takes place at the Albert Hall conference centre in Nottingham on 27 January 2016.

The day will once again be followed by an exciting evening study tour looking at the best concepts in the city — venues to be announced shortly.
