A Punch licensee received a visit from the 'pub landlord', Al Murray.

The Punch licensee, Guy Plumb, of the site The Red Lion, which is based in Milton Keynes, was entered into a prize draw to win the pub landlord visit by purchasing Ramsgate Brewery beer between a dedicated period.

The prize was exclusive to Punch Finest Cask Partners and, as part of the visit, Al Murray served behind the bar, met customers, took photos and signed autographs.

Plumb said: "We are a huge fan of Al Murray and his visit to our pub was a real treat. It proved a big draw for customers as well as a vehicle to raise awareness of our pub. Beer from Ramsgate Brewery is a real favourite with customers and, thanks to Punch and the brewer, we have won a fantastic prize."

Duncan Garrood, CEO of Punch said: ‘We’re always trying to offer our publicans something different, and we felt this prize draw certainly did that.

"As well as The Red Lion winning the first prize, runners-up in second and third place, The Bell Inn in Pershore and The Archers in Walsall, are receiving Al Murray memorabilia. We enjoyed partnering with Ramsgate Brewery on this competition and will look to run similar promotions in future."
