Summer favourite Pimms announced a major new sponsorship with iconic London landmark Big Ben. 

The drinks brand said it's logo would appear on the Elizabeth Tower, better known as Big Ben, throughout the summer months until the end of August.

London-bar operator the Inception Group announced plans to open a bar within a hot air balloon, called Mr. Foggs Hot Air Balloon. The group said the balloon would launch from August from London's Shoreditch park, would include a fully stocked bar and would take 80 minutes to fly round the capital. 

Pub giant Wetherspoons revealed it was taking over soap's best loved pub, Eastender's the Queen Vic in a controversial new story line. The pub group said the BBC had not said anything more about the story line but confirmed it would have some control of the drinks stocked and was looking at east London based craft brewers.

Bar chain Snug Bars tapped into the growing demand for health conscious dishes by launching the 'nearly no calorie health sandwich.' Made from lettuce, tomato and grated carrot, the sandwich came with new 'cocktail' Iced H20 and was a bargain at just £14.95

Cornish brewer St. Austells launched a surprise new product, an aftershave inspired by its Tribute beer. Named eau de Tribute, the fragrance was described as 'easy wearing with a smooth balance of zesty orange and grapefruit aromas.'

And finally... many of you guessed it but the PMA's​ April Fool's contribution was the shocking news that the Government was repealing the smoking ban for one day only in honour of the Queen's 90th birthday. Read it here.
