Premium soft drinks maker Franklin & Sons has launched a new line of Scottish artesian waters – sourced from the Scottish Highlands – for the on-trade to mix with whisky.

A spokeswoman told the Publican’s Morning Advertiser: “Found at the foot of the Cairngorm Hills, Franklin & Sons Artesian Water is the perfect match for many of Scotland’s finest whisky brands.

“Both the whisky and the water share similar properties as the water has taken many years to filter through the hard rock to its natural spring.”

‘Similar properties’

Adding a drop of spring water to whisky can help release its complex flavours and aromas. However, it all comes down to personal taste.
