An Admiral Taverns licensee will compete against rivals from across the world after being named the winner of the UK Chilli Cook-Off championship.

Trevor Jenkins, of the White Hart, Bridgwater, and his team beat more than 100 others to win the title and are now set to represent the UK at the World Chilli Cook-Off, which will take place in the USA later this year.

Jenkins said: “Our family recipe is to create a special powder paste that we then marinate the beef in. Great taste and flavours is at the heart of what we offer at the White Hart and we are delighted to now offer our award winning Tex-Mex chilli to our patrons every Saturday.”

Jenkins’ team consists of himself, his son Adam Jenkins and White Hart head chef Steve Wilkinson. They scored 205 points out of 250 at the UK final, the best-ever recorded score in the competition.

The White Hart is celebrating Jenkins’ win by launching a ‘UK Chilled Out Chilli Night’ featuring chilli, karaoke and Cobra beers every Saturday.
