This weekend sees the return of the country's most iconic tournaments for rugby union and football, with a significant number of matches available to all licensees.

Rugby union: Wales v Ireland (Friday, 8.05pm) - BBC 1

People don't generally need an excuse to start the weekend with a visit to the pub but for some, this Friday will be unmissable with an RBS 6 Nations match that is a must-win for both Ireland and Wales shown on terrestrial TV. A great atmosphere is pretty-much guaranteed.

Rugby union: England v Scotland (Saturday, 4pm) - ITV

All eyes will be on Twickenham this Saturday afternoon. Both England and Scotland still have a chance of winning this year's Six Nations and those not lucky enough to be at the match in south-west London will want to watch the game in the pub. Therefore, if you're showing the match, shout about it and make your site the place to be for the game.

Football: Arsenal v Lincoln (Saturday, 5.30pm) - BT Sport 2

One of the most intriguing FA Cup quarter finals sees Lincoln, the first non-league side to reach this stage of the tournament since 1925, visit stuttering Arsenal. This game will overlap with the conclusion of the rugby at Twickenham so make sure there is a plan in place for showing both matches on different screens and that customers are aware if the channel is going to be switched mid-rugby.

Football: Celtic v Rangers (Sunday, 12noon) - Sky Sports 2

There's nothing like an Old Firm Derby to spice up a lazy Sunday afternoon. Celtic have only dropped points in one league match this season and nothing would make their Glasgow rivals happier than taking points away from Celtic Park.

Football: Chelsea v Manchester United (Monday, 7.45pm) - BBC 1

Wondering how you can compensate for the Monday evening lull? Get customers in for the stand-out tie of the FA Cup quarter finals. The match is also on terrestrial TV so can be shown by all pubs, regardless of sport subscriptions.
