Brakspear’s grade II-listed Stratford-upon-Avon site, the Townhouse, has reopened after a significant refurbishment.

The renewal of the managed venue, which the pubco bought in autumn 2015, covered the bar and restaurant area as well as the 12 bedrooms.

With 74 covers, the bar and restaurant area now has a stylish, pared-back colour scheme of greens, blacks and whites.

All the bedrooms feature designer wallpaper from Cole & Son and the pubco has put king size beds in every room.

To coincide with the revamp, Brakspear executive chef Antony Ely has introduced a new menu, which will focus on seasonal, rustic dishes based on locally sourced produce where possible.

Brakspear chief executive Tom Davies said: "We're delighted with this refurbishment, which has given the Townhouse a stunning new look while retaining the historical character that's important to so many visitors to Stratford.”

The total amount spent on the refurbishment is unconfirmed.
