Ei Group, formerly Enterprise Inns, has announced that its next managed operator partnership will be with London-based gastropub company Three Cheers Pub Co.

The first site under the banner of the new Six Cheers Ltd joint venture, will be the Bedford in Balham, south London.

Three Cheers becomes the eighth partnership under the Ei Managed Investments model, which was launched two years ago, with Rupert Clevely the first partner under the Hippo Inns banner.

Ei said the Six Cheers would transform “a number of pubs that are currently part of Ei Group’s estate”, with a focus on the seasonal British produce, English beer, fine wines, Champagnes and "stunning party spaces".

Former glory

Tom Peake, co-founder of Three Cheers Pub Co, which was originally Renaissance Pubs, said: “We are absolutely delighted to be working alongside Ei Managed Investments and we are especially excited about taking on a venue as iconic as the Bedford.

"It’s a pub we’ve known all our lives and we are thrilled to have the opportunity to restore it to its former glory.”

Ei Managed Investments operations director Nathan Wall added: “Six Cheers is an exciting venture for us. We’re delighted to be working alongside the Three Cheers Pub Co team and harness the experience they’ve gained from building their unique pub company.”

There are currently 24 pubs trading under the various relationships with a target of 30 to 35 by the end of September.
