Heineken is launching a new compact draught dispense system for areas in pubs that cannot readily be served from the cellar, enabling licensees to offer “consistently great-quality cold draught beer”.

The new system, titled SmartDispense Cool Flow Technology, is being rolled out across the Stars Pubs & Bars estate.

The model is designed for locations such as meeting rooms and outside bars, and is available with one or two taps to serve Heineken’s draught ciders and lagers.

Quality is key

Star Pubs & Bars managing director Lawson Mountstevens said: “More licensees are developing function rooms and garden bars, and maintaining quality is key to their reputations and success.

“SmartDispense Cool Flow Technology guarantees great-quality cold draught beer in these areas and will reduce pressure on their main bar.”

The technology

As a compact under-bar unit, the system requires no cellar cooling.

Due to its combined tap and cooling innovation, it reduces service visits and line cleaning to 13 weeks, giving a 92% wastage saving compared to standard dispense systems.

The launch builds on Star Pubs & Bars’ roll out of the SmartDispense Module cellar system.

A total of 50% of Star pubs now have the cellar system and the company is on track to install it in 60% of its pubs by the end of 2017.

While both systems have an on-going service fee linked to the number of taps, there are no additional costs to licensees for installing the SmartDispense cellar system or taking SmartDispense Cool Technology.
