Star Pubs & Bars has qualified for the final of this year’s Licensed Trade Charity Golf Tournament which takes place at Abbeydale Golf Club, Sheffield on 11 September.

Star’s golf team of Chris Moore, John Draper, Jon Leedham and Robin Mence will represent Herefordshire, having won the county’s qualifying heat by beating 16 other teams at Herefordshire Golf Club in Wormsley.

The event was supported by licensed property agent Sidney Phillips, brewer Timothy Taylor, cidermaker H Weston & Sons, pubco Admiral Taverns and Herefordshire Golf Club.

Teams representing Nottinghamshire, Norfolk, Yorkshire, Devon, Lancashire, and London will also take part in the final.

Last year the national tournament generated more than £16,000 for the Licensed Trade Charity’s work, supporting those working in the industry faced with illness, housing problems or financial difficulty.
