New World Trading Company (NWTC), known for its Botanist bars, is set to open a brand new concept in Bristol.

The pub company will be introducing the Florist in early 2018, which will be located in an 1800s Grade II listed former bakery, and have space for more than 200 guests.

The new venue will deliver an "uplifting experience" for all guests that "charms the senses with touches of vintage elegance", said NWTC.

It will offer cocktails and a selection of world ales, alongside a food menu that is complete with deli, rotisserie and "grill-inspired delights".

NWTC CEO Chris Hill said: “We are excited to be opening our first Florist in a community which has such a passion for food.

"We feel our combination of award-winning cocktails and tempting food will deliver something quite unique to the city.

"We are very much looking forward to immersing ourselves in local life.”

Victorian touches

The décor is a take on the old and the new, with a "combination of Victorian touches".

The launch of The Florist will bring new job roles including a range of positions in management, front of house and within the kitchen. Further information on recruitment will be announced in 2018.

Nicholas Calfe, director at Christie & Co Bristol office, which handled the letting for the site, added: “When we first saw the site, NWTC were high on the list of possible tenants as the premises are quirky and stylish with high ceilings, wood panelling and many other original features, including an orangery.”

New Alchemist

With a slightly earlier opening date, the Alchemist Oxford will be up and running in November.

Located in the all new Westgate shopping centre, the venue will span an impressive 4,600 sq. ft. and create more than 75 full and part-time jobs.
