The former Prince of Wales in Kilburn, London, has reopened as the Kilburn Arms following a £750,000 joint refurbishment by Star Pubs & Bars and multiple operator Beronmoor.

Operating eight sites across London in total, the Kilburn Arms becomes Beronmoor’s fifth pub with Star.

A large kitchen has been installed on-site as part of building work, allowing the Kilburn Arms to offer food for the first time.

The pub’s menu will be a mix of classic dishes, such as burgers, risottos and Sunday roasts, as well as speciality seafood dishes. An expanded drinks menu will include a range of premium gins, rums, wines and Champagne as well as cocktails, craft ales and bottled beers.

Elsewhere, the bar area’s interior has been upgraded with sizeable investment in new fixtures and fittings alongside a seating area reshuffle that increases the number of covers by 20 to 93. The amount of external seating has also increased, with new decking included in the building work.

Biggest site to date

Beronmoor’s managing director Costa Tofan said: “We were attracted to the Kilburn Arms because of its great location, size and character.

“It meant we could run three distinct but interconnected businesses from the same location – a traditional English pub, a small hotel and an artisan fish and chip shop.

“It’s our biggest site to date and the first time we’ve had letting rooms.”

Unique business

Star Pubs & Bars operations director Tim Galligan added: “We’re delighted Beronmoor has taken on the Kilburn Arms and is creating a unique business in the area, allowing the pub to realise its potential.

“The joint investment together with their local knowledge and extensive experience will ensure the pub is sustainable in the long term.”

The extensive revamp also included adding an artisan fish and chip shop and 12 double ensuite letting rooms – including Wi-Fi, HD TV and tea and coffee making facilities – to the venue.

As reported by The Morning Advertiser, Star Pubs & Bars helped Derbyshire multiple operator BJK Leisure revamp their first leased pub to the tune of £1m in January.
